Preparing for the School of Prophets

Every year Shiloh hosts a summer conference called the School of Prophets. Several hundred people arrive to seek the Lord together in worship, speaking the word, classes, recreation, and fellowship together. It is always a landmark time of our year.

This time would not be possible without the many volunteers who spend weeks in preparation for all our friends and family to come and stay with us. Shiloh is a big place, equipped with a number of dorm rooms to house guests. But throughout the winter they are used sparingly and need a good spring cleaning before our guests arrive. Carpets are vacuumed, bathrooms are cleaned, and beds are made with love and blessings that whoever sleeps in them will meet the Lord in a new way during their stay.

The grounds of Shiloh need just as much care and attention. We have over 50 acres of land that need to be mowed regularly. In the spring, we spend a day where the entire church comes out to garden, mulch, plants flowers, trim shrubs, and generally take care of the land, everyone pitching in however they can. From the moment you step onto the land, you should feel blessed with an atmosphere to meet the Lord.

This year’s School of Prophets is almost upon us. We’re scrambling to finish last minute preparations with anticipation for what the Lord will do during this time. God has given us this amazing facility for times like these and we are both stewards and co-creators with Him. We love you all and can’t wait to see you!
